ROADS and footpaths in and around Wellingborough are set to benefit from repairs.
Northamptonshire County Council’s has launched a new programme of highways maintenance which aims at improving the county’s road network.
The county council is working with MGWSP to carry out more permanent repairs than before, investing in preventative maintenance to slow further deterioration and concentrating on localised road patching.
Cllr Heather Smith, county council cabinet member for transport, minerals and waste, said: “We all know the severe weather had left some of our roads in a terrible state so we have been working hard to address this problem and also make sure that our roads are more resilient for the future.”
The areas of the borough where work will take place is: Footway works
- Irthlingborough - Allen Road area
Carriageway patching:
- Earls Barton - Compton Way
- Earls Barton - Mears Ashby Road
- Castle Ashby - Denton Road
- Great Addington – Addington Road / Irthlingborough Road
Surface dressing roads:
- A509 - Isham to Harrowden
- B645 - Higham Ferrers to County Boundary
- A4500 - Ecton Wellingborough Road
- A4500 - Ecton Northampton Road
Improvements to residential roads:
- Wellingborough – Redhill Grange
- Wellingborough – Gleneagles Drive
The work will take place between July 26 and August 9.
