Sutil eyes return to form in Hungary

Adrian Sutil is optimistic that this weekend's Hungarian Grand Prix will provide him with redemption from Force India's nightmare in Germany.

Sutil could only managed a 16th place finish at his home race last Sunday after suffering a five place penalty in qualifying for changing a gearbox and then having a mix-up with team-mate Tonio Liuzzi in the pits.

In his previous three races at the Hungaroring, Sutil has suffered two retirements while his only finish saw him come home 17th when he was driving for Force India's forerunners Spyker.

But with the Silverstone-based team testing a new blown rear diffuser on Friday and several other new parts, the German believes that he can get back to finishing in the top ten.

He said: "In the past I've never had much luck in Hungary, but this is a new year for me, year number zero, with a competitive car, a strong position in the championship and everything to push for.

"The Hungaroring is actually a difficult track, with a lot of corners that require focus as one leads into the next without any recovery time. I like driving there, even though the average speed is quite low.

"Qualifying is very important, and despite our recent form in this area, I'm always confident I can make it into the top 10."

The Hungarian Grand Prix is traditionally a long procession, with the narrow track in Budapest providing few overtaking opportunities. It's date in the middle of the hot central European summer is also a big test of reliability.

One driver who is a fan of the circuit is Liuzzi and he feels that Force India's strong showing at this year's Monaco Grand Prix - where the Italian finished in the top ten - bodes well for Sunday.

He said: "Hungary is now coming very soon and although we know it could be a tough weekend for us because of the strength of the competition now, we still have a chance to fight for points because we're always there when everything goes right.

"And it's like a big Monaco in that the circuit is very twisty and there's not much room for overtaking, and at Monaco we were quite strong.

"I quite like the track and I've been pretty fast in the past. It's all about the rhythm, akin to a kart circuit, so I like it.

"It's one of the old school circuits with a nice atmosphere and a beautiful city, and it's always good to be there. I believe we have a chance to score points, but the others won't make it easy."
